12 of 12 (3.0) - July 2008

Time for another 12 of 12!! This was all his idea and more and more people all over the world are participating and showing us their 12th of every month! Yay! Here's my humble addition:

1) 02:49
Got home late after a choir summer party and looked at some pictures I took and can hopefully use for my 366. Won't be long until...

2) 03:10
...bedtime.

3) 10:00
Wakey-wakey...

4) 12:52
Time for some household chores like emptying and re-filling the dishwasher.

5) 18:01
On my way to Dresden's annual Summer Museum Night, where every museum in the city and a few other interesting places are open until after midnight and you can access them all with one ticket. I went with a friend whose feet are probably hurting just as much as mine do now. :D

6) 18:43
First stop: the Transparent Manufactory in Dresden. There was a long waiting line so we decided to come back later and try out the German Hygiene Museum first.

7) 18:51
On our way to the German Hygiene Museum. In front of the museum there was a little fairground with different attractions for the kids. There was a booth that had the equipment to produce gigantic bubbles.

8) 19:09
A gigantic drosophila melanogaster, or fruit fly, and an equally gigantic dust mite in the background. Eep.

9) 19:12
A transparent cow.

10) 20:31
Waiting in line to get inside the Transparent Manufactory of Volkswagen where they produce the Phaeton, Volkswagen's luxus car. At this point we had been waiting for almost an hour already...

11) 21:41
Finally inside the Transparent Manufactory. The tour started with this model of the manufactory and we got to see almost everything you can see, from the little tower with the lounge to the actual manufactory part with Phaetons in different stages of assembly. It was very interesting and definitely worth the 2-hour wait!

12) 23:46
Waiting in line to get up the tower of Dresden City Hall, which you can see here. It was another long wait (close to an hour) but definitely worth it. For some of the "Dresden by night" pictures, check my 366 blog. :)

Finally a 12 of 12 that included more than 12 variations of my apartment. Yay!! See you next month. :)

Wow I would love to see the Phaeton manufacturing stuff. Some really unusual pics this month and I love them! Thanks Christin.

Sounds like an interesting day/night but a shame there are so many queues.

The large dust mite is a bit creepy ...

I was in Madrid for their Night of the Museums in April - it was much fun, but I was really happy that we just wanted to go to the Prado and not the Tyssigen museum across the street - the queue was down the corner, down the block, and around another corner!

Leider. Ich meine, ich hätte es aber auch mal fürs deutsche Fernsehen gefunden. Am Besten einfach mal googlen oder so. Ist nämlich ganz praktisch und man verpasst so nichts mehr.
Bis nächsten Monat!

I was so sure I'd already commented on this! Such a shame about the long queues, but I think it was worth it for the photos and to see the car making! Looks like a good night for you and your friend, something a bit more unusual for as 12 of 12 day!

Such gorgeous pics you have here !!

Museums by night is always special ! There's something "magic" about it ! Glad you could enjoy it !

Plus, fun fact : I have the exact same red bowls you have in your dishwasher...except mine are blue !

Great photos! I'd have nightmares if I ran across the giant fruit fly.
